Ingredients
  • 1/2 cup Rice
  • 2 cup Water
  • 1/4 cup Black sesame seeds
  • 1/4 cup Fine sugar
Instructions
  1. In a small bowl, place the rice and cover it with water. Close the bowl and let it soak overnight (or at least for 6-8 hours).

  2. In a separate bowl or small pan, dry roast the black sesame seeds for about 10 minutes over medium heat, stirring occasionally to avoid burning. The seeds should become aromatic and slightly shiny.

  3. After roasting, place the sesame seeds in a blender. Drain the soaked rice and add it to the blender along with 3 cups of fresh water. Blend everything until smooth.

  4. Using a fine mesh strainer or a cheesecloth, strain the blended mixture to remove any large particles. This will give your drink a smoother texture.

  5. Pour the strained mixture into a pot and cook it over medium heat. Stir constantly to prevent sticking and avoid lumps. After about 5 minutes, add the fine sugar and continue stirring until it dissolves.

  6. Once the mixture thickens slightly and is well-cooked (around 10 minutes), remove from heat. Pour the finished sesame rice milk into a cup, and serve warm or cold.

  7. Enjoy your homemade black sesame rice milk.
