In a saucepan over low heat, add one cup of milk and a quarter cup of sugar. Until the sugar is dissolved, thoroughly mix.
Add half a cup of milk powder to the pot and mix it well with the milk and sugar mixture. Make sure there are no lumps.
Leave the mixture to boil over low heat, while reducing the heat to low. Simmer for approximately ten minutes, stirring now and again to avoid sticking.
In a small bowl, mix a tablespoon of corn flour with a quarter cup of milk. Mix well until the corn flour dissolves completely.
Slowly pour the cornmeal and milk mixture into the pot, stirring constantly. This will help thicken the mixture. Add half a teaspoon of vanilla extract and continue stirring.
